Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Turns 25

Turns out January 3 was the 25th Anniversary of the premiere of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Personally I think its the best of the Star Trek series. Not in the first three seasons but the final four as it was allowed to go in directions the franchise has not gone in before or since (Discovery has the potential). Variety has an article up where they spoke with the cast and creators as they looked back on the franchise. Avery Brooks (Benjamin Sisko) did not participate but he purposely stepped out the of the limelight many years ago so not really a surprise. The rest of the cast was part of it with Nana Visitor (Kira), Rene Auberjonois (Obo), Armin Shimerman (Quark), Alexander Siddig (Julian Bashir), and many more including my still long term crushes of Terry Farrell and Nicole de Boer (Dax). Chase Masterson (Leeta), looking outstanding, continually reminds me that DS9 made poor use of her while Penny Johnson Jerald (Kasidy Yates) also participated, I guess taking time off from chewing the scenery on The Orville. Any case its a brief but nice walk down memory lane so be sure to read the look back over at Variety. Coming this summer will be an in depth crowd funded documentary called "What We Left Behind: Looking Back at ‘Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" that will also celebrate its 25th year.
