Happy Star Trek Day as Franchise Turns 51

Hard to believe its been 51 years of Star Trek with a new series just weeks away from premiering. Below is a supercut of the series as found by TrekMovie.com to celebrate its birthday.

As part of the day, multiple celebrities tweeted out birthday wishes. Alexa also "sings" the theme and teaches Klingon if you say "Alexa, Good Morning" or "Alexa, speak Klingon.". While not providing specific numbers, Netflix also provided this picture that shows the most popular episodes on the service and surprisingly most are Voyager (where is the DS9 love?). Finally, again thanks to TrekMovie, here is a bit of trivia to add when sitting down to watch Star Trek: Discovery. Since Discovery takes place 10 years (2256) before The Original Series, where is the future Enterprise bridge crew (2266) during this time?
James T Kirk - Probably serving on the USS Republic near Earth while teaching classes at Starfleet Academy
Spock - on this third year as science officer on the USS Enterprises under Captain Christopher Pike
Leonard McCoy - Exact location unknown, best guess is likely practicing medicine somewhere on Earth or elsewhere in the Federation
Montgomery Scott - Serving as engineer on one of the 11 Starfleet ships he worked on before his 51 year tenure on the Enterprise
Nyota Uhura - As around 17 years old, probably in high school
Pavel Chekov - As around 11 years old, probably in school somewhere in Russia.
Hikaru Sulu - Age is unknown so either in high school or Starfleet Academy.
The key source for this information is the huge smorgasbord of Star Trek canon data known as Memory Alpha. A site worth bookmarking for any current or new Star Trek fan. If you are into reading the books and occasionally need a factoid reminder, check out Memory Beta. The books, especially over the last 15 or so years, have tried very hard to maintain their own internal continuity that does not contradict other books or official canon so its worth checking out if want to catch up on the continuing adventures of your favorite character.
